This is the holy grail of weird exotica. Back in 1959 a Polynesian scholar was housed with a jazz flautist and his band, they mused and co-created, brought in the lead from female lead from West Side Story – Marni Nixon – and an actor – latter a convicted murderer – Robert Sorrels to provide dialogue on a couple of tracks. It’s intense to say the least, like the down side of Eden Ahbez where blood is spilled and musical boundaries are transcended. Weird but indeed wonderful.
