Exotic England takes a bow as film composer Stanley Black steps into the stereo-bothering world of “Phase 4”, a short-lived platform to show off the possibilities of Hi-Fi. Rhythms rattle, singers wail and the arrangements are like mini movie soundtracks in themselves, a wild and explorative set of recordings that travels the lobe with more than a hint of Bond-like espionage. The cover is not a classic but the music more than makes up for it.
